About Us

 The Angelcynn Bar Folc (English Boar Folk)

are a brand new Anglo--Saxon / Anglo-Dane re-enactment group created in August 2012. It was the idea of one of our weapon men, Dean, who thought of it while swimming in the North Sea. Our aim is to keep alive an interest in our ancient English customs, beliefs and culture in general.

There are only a few of us as yet: 3 Weaponmen, three Wifmen and one cild,in England.We also now have 2 Weaponmen and 1 Wifman, in Angeln,Germany. Folk of all ages with an interest in the period are welcome to join us.

We are non-political and will try to re-enact the 5th - 11th century period as correctly as possible, following all Health & Safety standards. As we get bigger, we shall hold regular moots (meetings) and will be organised into Scire Fyrds. The committe of the group will be called the Witan.

We have already forged strong links to our Angle and Jutish brothers and sisters in Angeln and Denmark through their bi-annual Angelner Thorsberg Festspiele, held near Schleswig. We are honoured guests at the 2014 festival.
